Cleanses have always intrigued me. I think they’re a great idea, but I love food too much to cut it out of my life for few days and just drink juices.
I was surfing Pinterest the other day when I saw my friend had pinned a seven day tea flush by Jillian Michaels. Skeptical, I clicked on it and found out that all you have to do is drink a few glasses of this “tea” for 7 days. That’s it!
The Jillian Michaels’ recipe says you can lose “5 pounds in 7 days” and remove toxins from your system. Most of the weight you lose is just water weight. I didn’t do it for the weight loss though, I did it to flush my system and get rid of toxins.
Every day, for 7 days straight:
– 60 ounces of water
– one tablespoon of 100% pure cranberry juice
– one dandelion root tea bag
– two tablespoons of lemon juice
Every morning I boiled my water, let my tea steep for a few minutes, and allowed the 60 oz to cool to room temperature. Then I stirred in the cranberry and lemon juice. I filled up a cup with ice and kept the rest in the fridge, refilling my cup throughout the day until it was gone.
My friend and I did it together, starting on a Sunday. I thought the tea tasted pretty good. A bit zesty because of the lemon, but tasty. I drink a lot of water normally, so honestly 60 oz of “tea” a day didn’t seem too shocking to me, or my bladder.
Results: Nothing… Literally nothing happened (for me or my friend). I didn’t feel differently, didn’t lose any water weight, and didn’t feel the other “effects” of a cleanse. I was very hydrated for 7 days though, so that was a plus.
Has anyone else tried this and had different results? I was a bit disappointed it didn’t work, but I will keep my eyes out for a new one to try and let you know how it goes!
