The other day I got the random urge to bake…. again. I just wanted to get in the kitchen and rattle a few pans. This resulted in a tasty treat for the roommate, the boyfriend, and myself :) Chocolate chip cookies for all!
Simple. Straightforward. Delicious.
Let’s just get down to it!
Ingredients (makes about 24 cookies):
– 1 cup butter (2 sticks, softened)
– 1 cup light brown sugar
– 1/3 cup granulated sugar
– 2 1/2 cups flour
– 2 eggs
– 2 cups chocolate chips
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 3/4 teaspoon salt
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I always add a splash extra)
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Step 2: Mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy (about 2-3 minutes)
Step 3: Slowly mix in the eggs and vanilla
Step 4: Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
Step 5: Combine wet and dry ingredients
Step 6: Stir in chocolate chips
Step 7: Create 2 tablespoon sized balls and line up on baking sheet (If you want the best cookies on the planet, get a silpat.. no joke)
Step 8: Bake for about 12 minutes
Step 9: Eat, enjoy, and share*!
*Sharing is optional :)
