OLD GLORY | Getting my BBQ fix in Georgetown

BBQ old glory sandwich

This weekend, as the boyfriend and I were walking around Georgetown in search of some swimming trunks for him for Florida this weekend (first time he is meeting my father, EEK!), he asked me if I was hungry.

After four times of stating CLEARLY I wasn’t, we stumbled upon Old Glory… quickly I said, “well maybe I could have a little BBQ snack” :)

I mean, just take a look at their signs outside!

It was clear I had to go in. Plus, some good old American BBQ was exactly what we needed as we prepare for Memorial day weekend coming up! ‘MERICA!

Old Glory in Georgetown was quite a treat, let me tell you!

Let’s start with the brewskies :) You can’t have BBQ without a tall cold beer in your hand.

I went to my tried and true, Shock Top, and the boyfriend went for a new beer we have been getting lately, 312. About halfway through I switched with him :) 312 was just hitting the spot much more!

Then, complementary mini corn muffins were delivered to our table. That’s when I really fell in love with Old Glory <3

The mini corn muffins has real bits of corn in them (you know how much I love that) AND was accompanied with a sweet peach butter. I ate more mini muffins and globs of butter than I wish to admit…. so I will just show you instead.

Next up, the main attraction! Pulled pork sandwich piled high, topped with a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. After loading up the top with coleslaw, I inhaled (literally) the sandwich before my boyfriend got through half of his meal.

At his point he proceeded to remind me that only 15 minutes before that I was saying how I wasn’t hungry at all. Whoops :)

Ohhh, how BBQ can change a girl’s mind, and tummy :) Old Glory, I will be back!

Now, off to go burn off my “snack” with a walk around beautiful Georgetown.

Old Glory used to have the best happy hours back when we were in college. And the food is always better than you expect!

I love the one as sushi taro on weekdays…until 7pm, half priced sushi and wine!
