HANGRY (han-gree) adj. = a state of anger caused by lack of food
Snacking is one of my worst habits. It could be 5am or right after Thanksgiving dinner and I will be on the lookout for a tasty snack.
Believe me, if I could snack on potato chips and chocolate all day long I would be a happy camper! But sadly, that’s just not the best idea for your heart or waist line.
As my boyfriend always says, “No one likes a hangry manderz!” (“manderz” is his loving nickname for me)
So to combat my hangry side from coming out, I always have healthy snacks on hand!
Since I would consider myself a snacking expert, I’ve created a list of my top 6 snacks recommendations! Fruity, salty, crunchy, chewy, chocolaty…. these snacks cover it all.
- Blue Diamond BOLD Wasabi and soy sauce almonds (the dijon mustard ones are delicious too)
- Belvita blueberry biscuits (you will think you are eating a cookie, seriously)
- Annie’s organic bunny fruit snacks (these aren’t just for kids)
- Skinnygirl chocolate chip cookie dough protein bar (you will be shocked by how tasty this is!)
- Perfect red apple (An apple a day keeps the doctor away)
- LARABAR cherry pie bar (I’ve raved about these bars before, and they are still a go-to for me!)
All of these things can easily be thrown in a purse and devoured at the first sign of hangry-ness!
What are you go-to snacks?
Good post. Letting yourself get too hungry just leads to bad food choices. Protein is key for me, so I’ll add a light string cheese or Babybel lite to my green apple as a go-to snack. Or one of those P3 packs (a little meat, cheese and an few nuts) available even at convenience stores.

Great point! I’ve never tried a P3 pack before, but it sounds like a great little snack time treat! I will have to check them out :)

All I have tried from your list is the apple lol They all sound pretty yummy! One of my fave snacks is hummus! I love it with pita chips/bread, pretzels, celery, and carrots:p

YUM! Hummus is delicious :) Not the best snack to throw in your purse for a snack, but a great treat to have in your fridge at home or the office. I love mine with pretzels too!

They have mini packs of hummus that come with pretzels that have worked great as a packed snack for me:) But not the best thing to eat while you’re running around or driving lol

Hahaha that is true. My driving skills are already questionable. I need a snack requiring only one hand :)

I’m a little less than halfway through, but I’m enjoying it! At first I thought the constant switching between years/characters would be confusing, but it’s kept my interest! What do you think??

I agree! It took me a while to understand the constant flip flopping, but I finally got a hang of it. Reading about the Italian coastline makes me want to travel there so badly!

I try to cut up fresh peppers for my snack each day. Gotta get those veggies in!

Yum! That’s such a great idea! I’m obsessed with the yellow peppers :) I will have to pack those as a snack next week for work.
