As I mentioned before, this last week has been exhausting as I helped the boyfriend move into his new place. A few weeks ago we planned a trip to New York to visit friends, not thinking too much about how tired we would be.
But with many (and I really do mean many) coffees to propel us through the weekend, we enjoyed a few days in the Big Apple!
I’ve been a horrible blogger lately… I’ve been helping my boyfriend move into his new condo in DC for the last 5 days. It’s been rough. especially since he doesn’t have internet at his place for another 3 days! I will place the blame on him :)
Slowing getting back to my normal routine, I thought I would share my July Birchbox. With only two days left in July, this post barely makes the cut!
I saw this A to Z survey on Semi-Sweet Tooth and loved it! So I stole the idea, with permission of course :)
Below are some random facts about myself, each falling in line with a letter of the alphabet. Pretty straight forward and actually really fun! Ready to learn a bit more about me?
Some weeks I’m spot on with my grocery shopping… other weeks it’s a sad, sad fail (nutritiously and financially).
I either buy too much produce that goes bad before I can even get though half of it, or I end up making pasta and ordering thai via Seamless because I didn’t plan out my meals properly and only have a bag of kale chips to live off of.
Here are 6 tips I’ve come up with this last year of living alone to make sure I’m eating healthy while not throwing money away on unused/unnecessary goods.
Over the years, I feel I’ve perfected the necessities I place in my purse before heading out on the town. Although I’m not one to commonly go clubbing (RIP college years), headed to a local bar down the street is just as fun for me.
I carry a large purse during the workday, filled with everything from my day planner, to my laptop and snacks. So when I go out at night, I’m ready for a change into something a bit lighter. (I snagged this purse during Kate Spade’s Surprise Sale for 70% off!)
You sit down to blog, you want to blog, you need to blog… but you literally can’t blog. We’ve all been there. The number of draft blog posts I’ve started with less than even 20 words written is kind of pathetic.
Then there are the days that there are dozens of blog ideas you want to write about running through your brain and you just can’t decide.
I had one of those days last week, which is how this post came to life.
I know I mention my love for theSkimm continually (for example here & here), so I will spare you this time… BUT, if you did by chance read theSkimm this morning you would have learned that today we will have a Leap Second!
Picking a new day planner is serious business. This little notebook will be used for a whole year to plan your weekends away, work events, dinner dates, and happy hours with girlfriends (to gossip about your dinner dates).
I spend more than half of my waking hours at the office, Monday through Friday. There are so many things that can happen during those hours ever day, so the best thing you can do is be prepared for anything :)
Here are the 5 things I always make sure to have on-hand at work. I may not use them every day, but when I need it, I need it!
You know those days when you just aren’t feeling great and you’re curled up in bed, too awake to sleep but also too sick to get up? That’s what Netflix is for!
I’m fighting a stomach bug, so today I’m indulging in a little “me” time. My day will consist of Ritz crackers and hours and hours of Netflix. This is sure to cure me :)
Here are (in my opinion) the 5 best TV shows on Netflix perfect for binge watching:
- Orange Is the New Black
- Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
- House of Cards
- Pretty Little Liars
Since my boyfriend would kill me if I watched True Detective without him, I think it will be an Orange Is the New Black kind of day. What’s your favorite Netflix show to binge watch?
Happy Monday everyone! I hope your week is starting out a bit better than mine.
Don’t forget, there is only one day left to enter my giveaway for a $30 gift card to Barnes & Noble!
