I just got back from an amazing trip to the boyfriend’s family’s lake house. We lucked out with beautiful weather all weekend long and even though it took 6 hours to get there and 5 to get back home (ughs) it was completely worth it!
Some of the best things about vacation is that you can escape from the real world for a few days, ignore work emails, and enjoy your time with others. Some of the worst things is that your eating, sleeping, and workout schedule get a bit thrown off.
I get bored easily, like most people do. If I were to run ever day without a goal or a different running route I would get burned out. One of the best ways I’ve found to stay motivated and active is to continually switch up my workout!
By the time I leave work around 6pm, I quickly lose motivation to head to the gym. Instead I have pjs, dinner, and wine on my mind…
After one too many missed evening gym sessions, I decided to switch up my workout routine a bit (more like I HAD to switch up my workout routine)! Now when my alarm goes off at 5:30am, I jump out of bed, wiggle into some Lululemon, and head to the gym.
How do I do it? Some days it’s more of a struggle than other days, but here are a few tricks I’ve learned that help set me up for a successful gym session!

We all know how important staying active is, but sometimes you can’t help it. You either get home from work late and are too exhausted to pull on your gym clothes, or your coworkers want to go out to happy hour after work (and clearly you can’t say “no” to happy hour).
On days like this I feel a bit guilty for not getting any kind of workout in, so I’ve come up with a solution! No matter if I plan to hit the gym for a five mile run after work… or if I plan to hit up happy hour… I always do a daily morning workout to get my blood pumping!
We all go through times in our lives when we’re a bit healthier than others. When we are a bit more active, a bit more fit, and a bit more aware of our daily activities and how they affect our mood and overall health.
