Wine is my jam. Specifically, red wine. Even more specifically, cabernet sauvignon.
A great part about moving to DC are all of the new wine bars I get to explore! I even met the boyfriend at one (quite an interesting story).. but, getting back on track… Friday night was date night. So what better place to go and relax after a hectic week than a beautiful, cozy, and tasty wine bar in Georgetown!
From the outside, ENO Wine Bar doesn’t look like much, but once you walk in the front door you instantly feel as if you have wandered into a different world. Beautiful brick, wood tables, and walls of wine just calling your name.
The last time we went to ENO, we sat at the bar on the first floor and had wine flights and chocolates. Feeling like ENO pros this time, we went to the second story to grab a table, appetizers, and bottle of wine.
Lately, the boyfriend has been obsessed with an app called Delectable. All you do is take a picture of the wine you’re sipping. The app recognizes the wine, pulls up experts opinions and ratings, and helps you keep track of your favorites. I still haven’t downloaded it, but he swears by it.
The bottle was selected (the rating looked up) and a cheese platter delivered to our rumbling tummies. Cheese + wine + the boyfriend = perfection (especially when there is delicious bread too)!
One of the coolest things about ENO is their exploded wine barrel chandelier. It hovers in the middle of the second story, over the bar down below. This picture doesn’t do it justice because of the dim light… so you will just have to go yourself. It’s beautiful.
ENO Wine Bar is the perfect date night spot… for a first date or the 100th date. This is how every Friday night should be… cheers!
