Book Hangover: Inability to start a new book because you’re still living in the last book’s world.

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

OBSESSED doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this book! After reading Gone Girl, I went out in search of any and all books Gillian Flynn wrote, which is how I came across this one, Dark Places.

Initially I wasn’t super drawn in, I got stuck around page 30 when the main character was just down on her luck, but once you move past that, you won’t be able to put it down, promise!

Her books are twisted and really make you think (If you read Gone Girl, or saw the movie, then you know what I mean). Gillian Flynn takes life problems and push them to the extreme, which is what keeps you so invested in each character.

In this book you are trying to find out who murdered the Day family (don’t worry, I’m not giving anything away) and you’re constantly flipping back and forth between who you think did it as more twisted, dark, and odd stories are revealed as you turn each page.

I finished reading the book on my flight too and from Florida for Thanksgiving. I was that crazy person with the book to my nose the whole flight, unaware of takeoff, landing, or the flight attendant asking what I would like to drink. It was just that good, I swear.

Go to the bookstore now, or just click “buy” on your kindle or ipad, and start reading immediately! It’s a pretty fast read, but you will hate when it’s over… searching my bookshelf now for some book that will come close to that amazing work of art I just read.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Have you read The Stand by Stephen King? Or what about Needful Things… they’re both brilliant!
