I will admit, I was never a “yoga” person. No offense if you are, I just never understood it. I always thought going for a run was a much better workout than just “stretching”.
But, a few months ago my friend convinced me to try out a yoga studio. We went to an intermediate level class and within 10 minutes the instructor had us doing inversions (aka: us on our heads with our feet in the air). That is the day I realized yoga is tough!
So, finally to the purpose of this blog post, the 30-day yoga challenge by DoYouYoga.com!
The other day, my friend told me about an awesome, free, 30-yoga challenge she singed up for (different friend btw, little did I know I had so many yoga friends). So naturally, I signed up to do it too!
Note: Doing a “challenge” of any kind (whether it’s a yoga challenge, a cleanse, or training for a marathon) is always much easier if you do it with a friend to encourage you… and hold you accountable for missing a day.
Every day, for 30-days, you’ll receive an email with a 10-20 minute yoga video. Erin Motz, a young girl from Florida (holla!), takes you through each class with well coordinated and challenging moves. Some days are harder than others, which is nice when you’re sore from the day before. Plus, since these classes are so short, you can do them at your own pace any time throughout the day!
Give this 30-day yoga challenge a try with me! I’m on day 11 and can always use extra encouragement to stick to the daily videos :)
P.S. I’m looking to get a new yoga mat. Any suggestions on brand?
I’ve had back trouble so this is definitely something I need to get into.

Yoga is seriously tough! I always felt intimidated in classes though with people at such high levels showing off all the crazy moves they can do. Or at least it felt like they were showing off!
